The girl who came to see me was a gem. She was on time, cut my hair great and somehow struck a great balance of personalized service without it becoming too personal. A respectful, fun hairdresser. And it was easy to persuade my boyfriend too. Now I can take him home to mum. And I might just take the hairdresser too.

Margaret qualified at the Australian Academy of Hairdressing in 1986. She discovered her true love for haircutting in a short course with Edward Beale with Vidal Sassoon trained haircutters who promote the haircut as the most important feature in hairdressing. Margaret worked in Ballarat, but mostly in Glebe and Kings Cross in Sydney. She's worked in fields other than hairdressing, including writing and teaching. But recently decided to focus on her hairdressing. She believes that people feel their best about themselves when they have a flattering haircut, and that everyone should have access to a good hairdresser. Her clients come from all over Melbourne, Werribee, and Ballarat. They range in age from less than one year old to ninety eight and all are great fun to visit!

That's fine! I can visit even one person for a simple service. I do have a minimum change of $30 per visit.

My small son is afraid of hairdressers - can you help?

I meet many children with "haircut phobias". Haircut phobias are common and can be distressing for everyone in the family - and the salon when you visit.

I like to meet children the day before their first appointment and spend time to de-mystify the haircut process. This helps most children enormously. After that, there are many strategies to help kids and most find that after a few times, they are much less anxious, even enjoy, haircut time. I do not charge extra for the early consultation - I prefer to make the experience a positive one - that makes it easier for everyone!

Do you do colour?

Yes, I offer a range of regular colour services including foils, permanent tints, and mouse rinses. Please note I'm not be able to provide complex colour services, such as colour correction and multiple colour high fashion foils as I do not carry a full range of colours with me. Before booking for a colour, why not arrange a time for a free, no obligation colour consultation?
