TUGGERAH Lakes police are searching for two bandits who robbed staff and customers at a Charmhaven hair salon.
Police said one of the robbers was armed with a black pistol.
``Two men entered through the rear door of the hairdressing salon at 3pm on Saturday," Tuggerah Lakes Police Chief Inspector Stephen Hassett said.
Nine people were inside the salon, The Cutoff Point, at the time of the robbery.
``The door had been opened to allow a bit of air to flow through the place, but it is usually locked," he said.
``They said `this is a robbery' and were yelling and telling people not to look at them."
The bandits were last seen running down Narara Avenue, Charmhaven.
They escaped with a small amount of money.
One of the offenders is described as being in his mid-20s, slim build, 175 to 180 centimetres tall and had olive skin.
The other thief was described as being of medium build and having a fair complexion.
