Frequently Asked Questions
Yes, everyone at Mobile Make-Overs are qualified, skilled and talented at what they do. Tallora is very picky with her artists and expects a very high quality of standard. Your wedding day is very important to you and very important to the team at Mobile Make-Overs.
What should I do to prepare for the day?Wash your hair the day before, it will hold the style better than if you wash it the morning of.
Have a clean moisturised face.
If you are getting any facial waxing, do it one week before and pluck any that grow within that week. Makeup does NOT stick well to freshly waxed skin.
Spray tans should be done 1 or 2 days before the wedding day and a trial should be done 1 or 2 months minimum before the day to make sure it has time to fully fade away before the day.
If you decide to get a facial, do a test facial a month or more before, to make sure you have no reaction to the products and your skin has time to recover if it does.
Deep cleansing facials are likely to cause your skin to break out, (this means the facial worked and is not a bad thing) so leave plenty of time before your wedding for your skin to recover.
Does just one artist come out, or is there a few?It depends on how many are having their hair and makeup done, but usually you will have a hair stylist and a makeup artist come to you at the same time. It works well for time management.
Why should I have a makeup artist for my wedding?Your photos are forever. A qualified, skilled artist will be able to make you look stunning, by enhancing your features so they look great in your photos. Flash photography can wash out regular makeup and if you havent contoured and used the right products and colours on your skin, you may look quite flat, colourless and pastey. Not all makeup is made equally and most common makeup brands (price is NO indication of quality either) are not suitable for photography or long wear. Also, dont be afraid to ask your artist what qualification in makeup artistry they hold. If they are qualified they will have no hesitation in telling you. Beauty therapists are not fully qualified in makeup artistry, It is a very different job. Also, cosmetic sales staff often have no makeup artistry qualifications either, so feel free to make sure you are getting a quality artist.
Do you do airbrush makeup? We sure do. Airbrush makeup is a relatively new application method in bridal makeup, but has been a long time used in tv and film. It has a gorgeous lightweight application, but can have full coverage if needed. It is beautifully photographed, lasts all day and feels like you are wearing no makeup at all.
Airbrush trials are $70 per person.
What makeup do you use?We only use high quality professional products, that are designed for long wear, comfort and photography.
Most makeup brands are not suitable for photography, as they reflect incorrectly and do not withstand the flash.
Some of the brands we use are Laura Mercier, Napoleon, Atelier, Gorgeous Cosmetics and Stage Line.
How much are your packages? We do a range of services and tailor make our packages to suit your needs. The best thing to do is email or call us and let us know what your needs are and we can give you a quote.

Do you do trials on weekends and after hours? We understand many of our brides have full time jobs, so we are happy to do trials after business hours. We can also do trials on Saturdays, although, Saturdays are our busiest day, so are not easy to book. We are happy to do weddings on Sundays, but we dont do trials.
Do you travel to me on the wedding day?Yes we do. We travel to wherever you are getting ready. Whether that is home, a friends place, hotel or a function centre. Travel within 15kms of Adelaide city is free, only locations outside of 15kms are charged travel. We have a studio just outside of the city where we welcome our brides for their trials.
When is wedding season? The most popular months for weddings are January thru to April and September thru to November. If your wedding is in one of these months it is best to book things early.
The quietest months are June thru August.
How far in advance should I book?If your wedding is in peak wedding season it is best to book your wedding day early. Some brides book a year in advance, but the average is 6-9 months. Deposits are required to secure your date and most brides prefer to have a trial before paying their deposit, to make sure they are happy with the service. Trials are best done 6-9 months before the wedding, to secure the date.
Do I have to have a trial?Trials are completely your choice and anyone is welcome to have a trial. We do highly recomend the bride have a trial, just so she has peace of mind and it makes time management on the day easier, as all of our questions and design work are done during the trial.
What is involved in a trial? We work with you to create the perfect hair and makeup look. We have a chat, find out what you like, your style, any colour themes and a bit about your personality. This gives us a better idea on what hair and makeup will suit you best and feel most comfortable for you. We actually do your hair and makeup so you will see what it will look like, that way you have peace of mind knowing, you will look perfect.
