Haircut Trends for Male Skaters and Surfers

The holidays are over and for sure, many of you skaters out there bought some new stuff or received gifts you can use for your favorite hobby. So you got a new board and perhaps a new shirt, cap and sneakers.

That might do but wouldn’t it make you feel better if you get a new haircut? It’s 2013 already and a new hairstyle might just boost your energy and make you more successful in doing those complicated tricks.

Typically, a haircut for the boys who love to skate and surf is the wispy and layered type. Something that’s not straight or the usual boy’s cut.

A popular skating icon with a great hairstyle that many are raving about is Ryan Sheckler. This skater started very young at not even two years old using his dad’s skateboard. Since then, he’s been hooked to the sport and has in fact created plenty of his very own tricks.

Sheckler’s hairstyle got noticed and became popular after he appeared on MTV. He wears his hair medium or long such that even he wears his cap while skateboarding, he can still look cool.

For those who want to have the Sheckler look, you may consider dying your hair to blond which is the natural hair color of this young and famous skater. Maintaining a medium length hair is fine but make sure that you’re not bothered by it when you do your tricks or you might end up hurting yourself. When you have longer hair, it would be a good idea to tie it to a ponytail or wear a baseball cap while you’re doing your stuff.

But of course, hair length is still a personal preference. There are skaters who do just fine with short hair. The extra short or the buzz cut and regular short style is usually for the practical skaters who look for comfort and a low-maintenance hairdo. These boys and young men don’t want to trouble themselves with styling their hair most of the time.

The messy hairstyle, on the other hand, is ideal for short hair. This is great for those with fine hair as it adds volume. Gel and wax can enhance the style.

The tousled style is for those with medium length hair. This can have bangs as well and can be managed with the use of gel or mousse.

Stylists also point out to also consider the shape of your face as an important factor when deciding for your hairdo. This is to ensure that the style will fit you well.
