Brian Jones of Rolling Stones, Jim Morrison of the Doors, Kurt Cobain of Nirvana, Janis Joplin and other more male and female rock stars of today, they all have great hair. Do you want it? Read on to achieve that rock star hair!

Nowadays, rock star hair (which is usually long) is definitely tamer that it was in the 80's and 90's, though this article will provide you different tips on how to get a rock star hair, in whatever era.

With some basic materials and a few extra pieces, you will be on your way to the perfect do, with only little money spent.

Follow these steps to create classic rockstar hair from the olden days

1. Know what kind or style of hair would you like to have.

2. Notice that a rock star never straightens his/her hair or never tried to style it to whatever was in fashion. They didn't let society dictate on them and never did they follow norms.

3. Wear your hair naturally. At first it might be uncomfortable if you usually straighten or blow-dry your hair. But if you really want that rock star hair, learn to love your hair as it is.

4. Do not have an "emo" hair cut or style because it is considered mainstream and other types of common haircuts. Go with something that is longer than your usual hair.

5. You could also try to curl the ends of your hair. Some rock stars had long curly hair that would drape down their backs. Some even had to curl it to add volume and spunk.

6. If you want a dirty looking hair style, do not wash your hair too often. It gives you that shiny and grunge look that looks very cool.

7. Only have one hair color. Rock stars didn't have 5 colors in their hair.

8. Split ends? Cut them yourself. If you end up cutting some hair too short, the better! That 'not-the-same-length’ hair gives you more edge!

9. Comb and tease!

 The modern rockstar look

1. Wash, rinse and condition your hair. Blow dry you hair with a round brush to remove the wave or use a flat iron to straighten wavy and curly hair.

2. Comb it the way you like and run your fingers through it ‘til you get it all smooth.

3. Once you get your desired look, spray the entire do with a quick shot of hairspray to give it some extra support.

4. You can also get a rock star hair that doesn’t include too much hair, as you have haircuts today such as Mohawk, undercut, punk and spiky.
